OE5-SOTA DAY 2015
We will hold this year's OE5-SOTA Day on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Phyrn-Priel Region of OE5. Anybody interested in SOTA is welcome to join the fun! The plan is to activate summits in this area. Please post your planned activations on SOTAWatch and try to spread out to different summits. There are plenty in this area and it should be easy to find one that fits to your skills and interests.
We will then gather at Gasthof Niesl, A-4572 St. Pankraz 5, see: www.gasthaus-niesl.at8 at around 15.00 local time for a Get-Together. After having food and beer and the obligatory group picture we will have some SOTA related presentations. The meeting is open end.
A note to VHF Operators: The OE5 SOTA Day naturally creates a lot of traffic on 2m FM. We want to follow the policy to call on 145.500 MHz and then immediately move to another working frequency and keep the calling frequency clear. There are lots of opportunities for S2S QSOs during SOTA Day and a clear calling frequency should enable all activators to get attention to their activation.
