International SOTA Fun Day
Το είχαμε συζητήσει από διάφορα κανάλια και παλιότερα να λοιπόν που ήρθε ο καιρός να το κάνουμε και αυτό

Το κείμενο που ακολoυθεί είναι η έναρξη του διαλόγου για την επιλογή της ημέρας διεξαγωγής του πρώτου International SOTA Field Day.
"Hi all,
You will have seen the idea for a SOTA International Fun event from Sean M0GIA, that the SOTA MT will be fully supporting and organising. What we would like to do, in the next few days, is agree the best date to hold this.
My own thoughts are that it should be a single day. I think that the activity and interest from around the world would not be focussed enough if it was over a weekend, and there would be less chance of scheduling international summit-to-summit QSO opportunities. I think that a Sunday would be better than a Saturday, as more people will be available to participate.
I think we must avoid any major contests on HF to enable QRP SOTA stations to get some space on the bands. Sunday 3rd May 2009 seems like it might be a good idea, as it will coincide with the German SOTA activity event, but is this not also a major contest weekend?
Really, I think it could be any Sunday in May that avoided big contests and was convenient for most associations. It would be fantastic to observe the first EU - USA S2S QSOs and maybe even the first ever activation in OD?
Please share your thoughts with this group (association managers & MT) and let's prepare for a fantastic event.
